Discovery, strategy, design, delivery. Four phases, documented process, no surprises.
Two weeks of intentional listening and research — stakeholder interviews, brand audit, competitor analysis, customer research (where client data allows), and market positioning review. The output is a Discovery Report that we present before any creative work begins. If Discovery reveals the brief is wrong, we say so. Discovery costs $4,500 and is credited against the project scope.
One week translating Discovery findings into the creative brief — brand positioning statement, tone of voice direction, visual strategy, and the specific creative challenges the design must solve. We present the Strategy Document and get written agreement before designing anything. Strategy is where we decide together what success looks like, so there's no disagreement about it at the end.
Two complete creative directions, fully executed in context — not logo sketches, not moodboards, not "here are some ideas." Two directions means two complete answers to the same brief, shown in the actual applications that matter to your brand. We present with recorded rationale. You choose a direction, we refine. Two refinement rounds are included in every project scope.
Brand guidelines document, complete file package (AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, PDF in all specified color formats), and a one-hour handoff call. The file package is organized to be useful without us — named, labeled, and structured for the vendors, developers, and internal teams who will use the brand after we're gone. We offer a 60-day post-delivery support period for questions at no charge.
Our process exists for one reason: to produce better creative work with fewer surprises for both parties. Discovery protects you from spending money on creative that solves the wrong problem. Strategy protects us from designing without clear criteria for what success looks like. The documented process protects the project from the subjective conversations that derail most design engagements.
We have had clients tell us the process "feels like more work than they expected." We consider that a feature, not a bug. The effort clients invest in Discovery and Strategy is proportional to the quality of the creative work that follows. Clients who engage seriously in the early phases consistently produce HarborPoint's best work.
